A Main Street Gospel explores the rich and diverse themes of our faith, themes which encompass the totality of life. In the author's words, each of the commonplace events of life can become "grist for the mill of theological discovery, or if you will, a potential locus for revelation." Thus, these sermons treat common things in an uncommon way. The author has taken main-street institutions and events (th ejail, the bakery, the antique shop, the hospital, etc.) and turned them into gospel messages. this volume of fifteen sermons will provide the minister with needed resources for preaching throughout the church year, especially for those Sundays which occur during the long Pentecost season and weejs of summer.
