This book includes songs that date from early 1800's to middle 1900's and is a book of traditional songs that came from our forefathers, depicting happenings, their values and traditions that they upheld and brought with them and passed on to us - their caretakers. You'll find songs about romance, tragedy, old plantation songs, and much more. This book is only a drop in the bucket, a mixed lot of songs from across the nation, from the Appalachian mountain to the desert, The compilers have tried to be as authentic as possible and wanted to give readers some interesting tidbits about some of the great singers that have sung the songs and kept the music alive.
