Instructions

Each lesson has a "materials needed" list. Look ahead and buy these materials before class (see complete list below). We strongly recommend that you, the teacher, either do the lesson before hand to present an example, or do one with the student as he works, to show him how. You will need an extra Artpac to do this, but it is well worth the investment.

Artpac 6 includes instruction in the following art skills:

• Advanced shading using soft lead color pencils
• Advanced grid drawing
• Accurate enlargements with a grid
• Accurate reductions with a grid
• Letter layout and spacing
• Watercolor painting
• Color mixing and blending
• Perspective drawing
• Drawing faces
• Scherenschnitte (German paper cutting)
• Free hand drawing, beginning with simple shapes and adding detail

Materials Needed

• colored pencils (good brands are Crayola and Prismacolor)
• pencil
• pen (black)
• felt-tip pens (optional)
• extra-fine-point pen
• paint (optional)
• ruler
• glue/glue stick
• tape
• scissors (including sharp-point type)
• eraser
• picture of brightly colored scenery (perhaps fall)
• razor blade or craft knife
• cutting mat (such as cardboard)
• copier paper (white)
• construction paper (various)
