Description

This is an introductory course to the Bible that can be used by individuals, homes, and churches. The goals are as follows:

(1) To give an overview of the Bible, which is the beginning point to understand it. The Bible is a Book that was planned by God in eternity before it was given to the holy prophets, and understanding the big picture is necessary to rightly understand the parts.

(2) To make the student familiar with the major people and events of the Bible. To give some first principles of Bible interpretation. To introduce the student to Bible typology, Bible prophecy, Bible geography, and Bible archaeology. To teach the fundamentals of the law of Moses, the Gospel, Israel, and the Church.

(3) To establish a foundation on which the student can build for the rest of his life. If you master this course, you will know more about the Bible than the vast majority of Baptist church members, but it is only a baby step in becoming a serious Bible student who can interpret the Bible for himself and feed himself effectually and be the spiritually minded teacher that God has called him to be (“ye ought to be teachers ... skillful in the word of righteousness ... who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil,” Heb. 5:12-14).

(4) To encourage churches and families to take Bible study much more seriously.
