We agree with the Philadelphia Confession of Faith, 1742, which says, “The doctrine of the Trinity is the foundation of all our communion with God, and our comfortable dependence on Him.”
To try to ignore the teaching of the Trinity and to deal with God apart from Trinitarian understanding is to reject the Bible and to worship an idol. Since Scripture is given to reveal God, and since the Scripture reveals God as the Trinity, this means we can understand the Trinity. The Bible was not given to confuse man, but to enlighten him. It is not a puzzle; it is revelation.
