A very nice copy of the paperback book, "Inference From Signs: Ancient Debates About the Nature of Evidence" by James Allen.  An excellent book that brings out new ways of looking at Hellenistic epistemology, the theory of knowledge, especially with regard to its methods, validity, and scope. Epistemology is the investigation of what distinguishes justified belief from opinion, with this volume focusing on the Hellenistic period, relating to Greek history, language, and culture from the death of Alexander the Great to the defeat of Cleopatra and Mark Antony by Octavian in 31 BC. During this period Greek culture flourished, spreading through the Mediterranean and into the Near East and Asia and centering on Alexandria in Egypt and Pergamum in Turkey.  279 pages with Expedited Shipping!
