The Preacher's Friend

This is one of the "meatiest" of Dr. Heslop's books. He has selected eleven well-known sections of Scripture and has developed each with a wealth of expository materials, illustrations, quotations, and spiritual lessons. The portions selected include five portions of the Psalms, two in Matthew, one in Romans, and one in Paul's Ephesian letter.

The title of these expositions need not imply that the layman is unqualified to profit by the book. On the contrary, each exposition is simple and the illustrations are readily understood.

For the preacher, however, the helps will provide a vast amount of assembled help. The materials are so arranged, the author suggests, as to provide the outlines and subject matter for 52 Sunday morning sermons.
