The Seven Laws of Teaching

John Milton Gregory’s book The Seven Laws of Teaching is a classic text. It may be read with profit by classroom teachers, college professors, and Sunday school teachers. The object of this book is to set forth the principles of the art of teaching. Since the most obvious work of the schoolroom is that of studying the various branches of knowledge, the work of teaching — the work of assigning, explaining, and hearing lessons — is that which chiefly occupies the time and attention of the instructor.
